Global Reach had the privelege of collaborating with Dewcape and Plus Architecture to upgrade and restore this stunning, heritage listed, pre WW2 building in the heart of Melbourne's CBD. Including a restaurant, commercial offices spanning 7 stories and a 2 storey extension housing a rooftop terrace, Invicta House retains it's heritage charm while integrating modern elements. Bringing energy efficiency into the equation necessitated the use of thermally and non-thermally broken aluminium window and door frames.

The buildings façade, made up of bay-like windows and consisting of thermally efficient, double-glazing, were designed to cantilever slightly, providing a unique architectural element, while also permitting natural light into the building. A 175mm wide hidden frame, unitised curtain wall system was utilised to enclose the building extension from Level 7 over 2 storeys, while the Northern light court, South and East elevations combined 150mm wide, front glazed, fixed and awning windows. All panels were craned into position, with the largest weighing 350kg.
