Orion House is a heritage listed commercial office building located at the west end of Melbourne’s CBD. The existing building had fallen into disrepair and required a major upgrade to bring it in line with competing commercial tenancies. Global Reach was contracted to supply and install commercial grade non-thermal break, aluminium double glazed units.

The project required the design and engineering of a 375mm wide front glazed unitised curtain wall system, enclosing the building extension, over 11-storeys. To ensure compliance, a 3- storey high prototype was manufactured, assembled, laboratory tested and certified prior to commencing manufacture of the unitised panels. All panels were craned into position, with the largest weighing 750kg. A 150mm wide front glazed window wall system was used to enclose the building addition on level 10.
